55.  No Smoke Without Fire
(20th February 1972)
After a fire at work, Blakey is determind to avoid a repeat and clamps down on smoking in the bus depot. This leads to Jack betting Stan that he can't give up smoking and eventually Stans resolve weakens. When out training clippies on an old bus it breaks down and Stan pops onto the bus to have a cigarette whilst Jack is upstairs but Blakey shows up and Stan puts the lit cigarette in a binful of used tickets. From this point on disaster ensues.

56.  Love Is What You Make Of It
(27th February 1972)
Stan is fed up with Olive and Arthur's constant arguments at home and suugests that they go and see a marriage guidance counsellor but Arthur refuses. Instead Olive, Stan and Mrs.Butler go for counselling alone. Jack then suggests that they try to get Arthur jealous by having him find Olive with another man. But what man?

57.  Private Hire
(5th March 1972)
A bad night at a greyhound meeting betting on Jack's tips sees Stan lose all his wages before he's paid his housekeeping money. He resorts to lending money off of a notorious character at work and is warned he must pay back on time. To make some more money Jack talks Stan into taking a bus out on a test run where they attempt to use it as a removal fan but this time Blakey has the last laugh.

58.  Stan`s Worst Day
(12th March 1972)
Stan reminisces about pivotal moments in the past. He recalls when Blakey was his driver when he was a conductor, his first meeting with Jack and when Arthur moved in as a lodger. In the present Olive and Arthur's arguments go on leaving Stan sleepless.

59.  Union Trouble
(19th March 1972)
When the depot canteens opening hours are changed and a member of staff faces being paid off Stan and Jack call an unofficial strike. Stan is soon left to fight on alone as Jack is 'bought off' by the bus company and after being at home doing decorating Stan finally decides to come back to work but will it be as simple as that.

60. Bye Bye Blakey
(26th March 1972)
During their medicals at the bus depot, Stan and Jack hear the doctor telling Blakey that he won't be around much longer. They believe that the inspector's fate is sealed and try to make his last few days alive as good as possible. Little do they know that they have the wrong end of the stick and that Blakey is in fact planning to leave the depot for a new job.
