40. The Nursery
(19th September
1971)
A job opportunity arises when the bus depot opens a nursery for the clippies children and the Sister in charge needs a helper. Stan puts forward Olive for the job but her lack of experience with children, broken spectacles and other mis-fortunes make for a disasterous shift for Olive, Stan, Jack and Inspector Blake. |

41. Stan`s Room

Stan takes a clippie home for a snog on the sofa only to find the family are still up watching a late film on TV which disrupts his plans. Something must be done if he wants to take things further but what? |

42. The Best Man

1971)
Inspector Blake's niece is marrying a busman but if that isn't bad enough Stan is to be the best man. Stan is confident he can perform the task but after a boisterous stag night when he, the groom and Jack get drunk the problems begin. Getting the groom to the church in time proves to be far from easy. |

43. The Inspector`s Pets
(10th October 1971)
Blakey is going on holiday with his mother but his plans may be on hold until he can get someone to look after his large pet dog and tropical fish. To ensure that Blakey goes away and means he and Jack will get some peace for a while Stan agrees to look after the pets for him. |

44. The Epidemic

1971)
Flu is rife at the bus depot and bus crews fall ill but this is good news for a fit Stan and Jack who reap the rewards of overtime. Stan has flu jabs at work but with his family all catching flu Stan does everything to avoid their germs especially as he has a date lined up with an available clippie. Will Stan's luck hold out though? |

45. The Busmen`s Ball

It's time for the annual Busmen's Ball at the bus depot but Arthur and Olive decide to break with tradition and not go to the ball after previous bad experiences. His mind seems to be made up until he hears that an exotic dancer has been lined up as entertainment. |

46. Canteen Trouble

1971)
Stan and Jack are benefiting from a very generous canteen girl who always serves them a big portion in the canteen but charges very little which doesn't go unnoticed by Inspector Blake. He sets about putting things straight and sets out to trap them. |

47. The New Nurse

1971)
The bus depot has a new nurse who needs somewhere to stay. She ends up as a lodger in the Butler household which is sure to cause problems for more than one member of the family. |

Lost Property

When Stan and Jack find some fish and chips on their bus but instead of handing them in to lost property they decide to eat them. That proves to be a foolish move when a woman comes into the depot to report the loss. The whole affair leads to the bus company being more strenuous about matters of lost property.. |

49. Stan`s Uniform

Scruffy Stan has to put in for a new uniform and is told to look after it. Easy enough if you don't decide to go home and do some decorating with it on which Stan does. After a few hours it is ruined leaving Stan with problems. |

50. The Strain
(28th November 1971)
To impress a clippie lands himself in trouble. He injures his back when trying to lift her up with one hand and his doctor tells him he will have to wear a surgical corset. If that isn't bad enough he still intends on going to work as he can't afford time off. |

51. The New Telly
(5th December 1971)
Stan earns a sum of money at the bus company's Christmas Club payout and the family decide to buy a new colour television. The only problem they have is how to get rid of their old telly? |

52. Vacancy For Inspector

1971)
Luxton and District Bus Company are looking for a new inspector and Inspector Blake sees an opportunity to solve the problems Stan and Jack cause. He promotes Jack to inspector and sees a change in Jack's attitude and Stan is the one to suffer. |

53. A Thin Time

Arthur falls under the spell of a clippie called Beryl who always works on the bus that Arthur travels home on. Poor Arthur doesn't realise that Beryl likes her men to have full head of hair and be athletic. |

54. Boxing Day Social

1971)
Arthur's sister Linda is in town and Jack asks Stan to get Arthur to invite Linda to come to the Boxing Day Social to be held at the bus depot.However, Arthur is adamant that his sister is above such things but is she really? |

43: In 'The Inspector's
Pets', Blakey tells Stan and Jack that it took him two days to dig up worms
for fishing bait. Then a little later, he says that it took him three days. |

EPISODE 43: Also in 'The
Inspector's Pets', when Stan gets out of the cab and runs round to the left
side of the bus, there is a large hole. However, when he drove the bus into
the depot just before, there wasn't a mark on it. |

Pets', when Blakey brings round the fish tank to the Butlers' house, it has
an extra bit at the bottom where the heater is. Supposedly, the heater is
necessary to keep the fish alive. However, when Stan gets the tank glass
fixed and has it in the bus garage, the bottom bit has gone and there are
live fish in the tank! |

Pets', the Butlers are looking after Blakey's valuable female dachshund.
When Arthur takes the bitch down to the pub, Stan shouts out, 'If anything
happens to HIM I'll kill Arthur!'. |

When he clocks in we hear the ring of the clocking-in machine bell. However,
after he joins Blakey and Jack, a couple of staff clock-in and the ring of
the bell is noticeable by it's absence. It was probably turned off so as not
to drown the dialogue. |
